The flower setting on the center table was beautiful this past weekend at Rose Hill. It's the perfect place for a wedding. They always do such a wonderful job.

I like the way the whole bridal party is reacting to the brother of the bride. This was right before the posed group image but I like this one much better.


We were just about to leave the wedding when the bride & groom came back from a short ride in there getaway horse and buggy. The sky was beautiful and fading fast. I ran over to the driver and asked rather quickly to ride to the top of the hill " the sun is moving fast". As always when you are trying to work with the the bride and groom someone will always come over and want to talk. It happened then but I guess they noticed I needed the perfect prop so they handed them a couple of glasses of wine. Great choice! Good timing.



With only and hour before the end of the reception I had a chance to take the bride & groom away for a quick photo session.

Its was a beautiful wedding today and the best part was I had a chance to spend some time after the wedding with the bride and groom. We stopped at a couple of locations just having some fun capturing some very nice places in Rocky Mount.

In this part of the country you may have 20 min to get from the church to the reception. The pressure is on around here to make the images quick and get back before the mother of the bride gives you the evil eye. In other parts of the country like in the North you have a wedding at 2:pm and you start at the brides house doing the family images and if you are lucky its only a 20min ride to the church.

The church ends at 4:pm and they may have the reception at 6:pm so you take the bridal party, the bride and groom off somewhere exciting for pictures. In the South the most important pictures of day are taken within the shortest amount time of the day.

What an awesome wedding. Working with Ellen & Hunter was a true pleasure. It was a beautiful evening. The rain showed up during the ceremony and quit just in time. Here are just a couple of my favorites taken right before we left for the reception. I will post more on Facebook and here in a couple of days.

On Sunday the weather was so beautiful we were outside almost the whole day. This is such a great view overlooking Seattle.

We had such a great trip to Seattle visiting the grandchildren and of course Ian & Lori. It was much colder then expected so Amy and I had to use some of Ian's jackets. I even had a pair of shorts with me. What was I thinking. It was in the 40's and 50's but very sunny and beautiful. The weather was perfect.

This weekend in Raleigh during the Professional Photographers of NC convention I was honored to receive the Professional Photographers of America National Award. This prestigious award is given to an individual for their service to professional photography and their commitment and dedication in helping others to improve at their craft. I am truly humbled to receive this award. Thanks to my PPNC family. I pictured receiving the award from PPA president Louis Tonsimeire.
